No respect for the dead in Ladysmith?

"I saw some men gathered under a tree in the graveyard having lunch. Is this a park or a resting place for the dead?"

Ladysmith residents are complaining about tombstones being vandalised at the local graveyard.

A Ladysmith Gazette journalist went out to the cemetery to find broken tombstones, and others completely “uprooted” and lying on the ground.

“Can people not respect the dead? Why do you want to vandalise someone’s tombstone? What purpose could that possibly serve?” asked one furious resident.

“I have been visiting the graveyard for months, as I visit my beloved brother who passed away, and I see many people just wandering around the place. A few times, I saw some men gathered under a tree in the graveyard having lunch. Is this a park or a resting place for the dead?” added the resident.
