A civilian was held up by three to five men at a holiday resort in the Drakensberg last night (August 25).
The civilian was held at gunpoint and robbed of cash.
Another person who saw what was happening tried to intervene.
The suspects responded by shooting him in the arm before fleeing the scene.
The K9 Unit, together with Winterton SAPS, immediately launched a manhunt for the robbers. One suspect was arrested by Winterton police officers.
The others are still on the run.
The person who was shot is in a stable condition.
