Locals up in arms over water issue

Before the informal meeting was officially closed the attendees agreed that in the next two weeks another meeting will be called

A group of about 40 Estcourt residents met on the corner Balsam Road in Forderville as they called for an informal meeting with representatives from the uThukela District Municipality on the on-going water issues being experienced with no solutions.

The locals had enough and used the opportunity to inform the uThukela representatives of their issues. In a heated conversation residents who are also uThukela’s customers, aired that they are very unhappy with the terrible service.

A number of issues were highlighted such as the hygiene and health factor. Notes were made and were promised to be taken to the relevant departments.

Jointly the uThukela representatives and residents came up with suggestions for solutions to the problem of constant water interruptions.

Before the informal meeting was officially closed the attendees agreed that in the next two weeks another meeting will be called, a formal meeting to check on the progress of the issue.

When the exact date and venue is known and confirmed it will be published. Read the full story in next week Wednesday’s copy of the Estcourt News.
