UPDATE: Four ‘flesh-eating’ suspects remanded in custody

The suspects made a brief appearance in court today, where they were remanded in custody until August 28

The four suspects arrested for the possession of human body parts appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court today.

Aged between 28 and 32, they face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The suspects made a brief appearance in court today, where they were remanded in custody until August 28.

“They were arrested as a result of one of them coming to the police station with human parts and the follow up resulted in the arrest of the other three accused,” commented police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel JS Sokhela.

A fifth suspect is still at large but police are confident of an arrest soon.

“Any person with any information is urged to contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Matsena on cell number 082 458 5853 or office number 031 325 5766,” added Lt Col Sokhela.
