La Gratitude continues its mission of care for the elderly

The rent sourced from the cottages and the two units, would then be used financially support the running of the Frail Care Centre.

In its mission to care for the elderly and the frail, La Gratitude Home for the Aged, has found an innovative way to raise funds for its Frail Care Facility.

On Thursday, July 27, La Gratitude held an official opening of its two new cottages and two single room units.

“We converted our old nursing school into the cottages, after receiving sponsorship from a Durban based company,” said La Gratitude’s CEO, Jomari Batista.

The rent sourced from the cottages and the two units, would then be used financially support the running of the Frail Care Centre.

Batista explained that as some of La Gratitude’s residents were unable to pay for the home services, so the old age home had to come up with creative ways to care for the elderly residents.
