Mahloni spreads some Madiba magic for Mandela Day

Mahloni Primary co-ordinated the building and furnishing of a home for an underprivileged family in commemoration of Nelson Mandela's birthday.

MAHLONI Primary and eDumbe Municipality spent 67 minutes on July 18 with the Mdlalose family at Ward 7, Mahloni area.

We built a two room house and fully furnished it to restore the dignity of this family, of the granny, son and two children. They were living in one room made of mud. This family was identified by the school during admission where it was discovered that Nonhle in grade 1 does not have a computerised birth certificate and her brother who was born in 2004 has a speech problem. The school profiled the family and the case was reported to war-room no 8 of Ophuzane Ward. Through Sukuma Sakhe the decision was taken that we need to restore the dignity of this family.
