Update: 2 dead on N3 as trucks burst into flames at Van Reenen

Two trucks burst into flames in a crash along Van Reenen’s Pass this afternoon (May 25).
Two lives were tragically lost, leaving one person seriously injured and another slightly injured.

A horse and trailer and a code 10 truck were involved in the collision.
The injured were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
Light motor vehicles heading southbound are being diverted at Harrismith, and northbound at the Bergville interchange. Traffic is backed up at the scene along the N3, while emergency personnel carry out clean-up operations.
It is unknown at this stage when traffic will be flowing smoothly.
