Municipality wrongfully cuts resident’s water in Pretorius Road, Ladysmith?

Mrs Cloete received someone else's water bill in the post, leading her to believe that the municipality cut the water supply to the wrong house

A woman living in Pretorius Road woke up to no water yesterday (April 25) after she believes the municipality got addresses mixed up.

Mrs Cloete received someone else’s water bill in the post, leading her to believe that the municipality cut the water supply to the wrong house.

Mrs Cloete lives in Pretorius Road, but the water bill she received was supposed to go to an address in Diamana Road.

“I am very angry at the municipality. This is not the first time they have wrongfully cut my water supply. The fact that they get addresses wrong shows how incompetent they are,” said Mrs Cloete.

She said they contacted the municipality to come and sort out the problem, but no one has arrived.

The bill that was sent to Mrs Cloete shows that the address that was supposed to receive the bill owes the municipality over R30,000 for water.

She pleads with the municipality to come and sort out the problem, and also says they should get their facts straight because there is no way she owes them such a huge amount for water.
