The children showed much appreciation, singing songs to thank the councillor and her team for such a generous gesture

Ward 21 Councillor MPB Mbatha, along with her team and in conjunction with the Ayona construction company, recently visited Mnambithi Primary School in Steadville to donate school shoes to deserving children.

The event took place at the school hall, where they handed out 40 pairs of school shoes to children from different backgrounds.

“As part of giving back to the community, the ANC Youth League in Ward 21 came up with a vision to donate shoes to children who are deserving,” said Councillor Mbatha.

The children showed much appreciation as they sang songs to thank the councillor and her team for their generous gesture.

Parents of the recipients were also present during the event and they too expressed appreciation, as some of them come from poor backgrounds and can’t afford to buy things for their children.

Thuli Shabalala, principal of Mnambithi Primary School, expressed her heartfelt thanks, saying that the school and the ward councillor work hand-in-hand and this is not the first time they have helped at the school.
