Help Marcia get to New York

Newcastillian, 27-year-old Marcia Ntamote was blessed with both, and this was proved when she won a gold medal at the recent Talent Africa, Premiere Talent Competition.

Having the looks and talent to succeed in your career is a key element to success.

Newcastillian, 27-year-old Marcia Ntamote was blessed with both, and this was proved when she won a gold medal at the recent Talent Africa, Premiere Talent Competition.

Drama, catalogue modelling and public speaking were the divisions Ms Ntamote competed in, and excelled far beyond her own expectations.

“I have never been a shy person, and it has always been my dream to become a women’s empowerment motivational speaker. This competition has already brought me one step closer to that dream,” she enthused.

Ms Ntamote has now been selected as one of the few competitors to represent South Africa in the international round, Talent America, which will be held in New York from July 4 to July 13.

She believes there are not enough women in the motivational speaking industry, and wishes to change that once her career has taken flight.

Given the opportunity to attend Talent America will surely help her gain the exposure she needs to attain her mission.

“This will also help me prove to other women that coming from a small town does not stop you from achieving your dreams.”

However, being selected for such a competition is quite costly, and now Miss Ntamote is appealing to the community of Newcastle to help make her dream a reality.

The total cost of getting Miss Ntamote to New York is estimated at around R75 000. This includes air fares, accommodation, meals and other sundries. In order to secure her spot in Talent America. Ms Ntamote is requested to pay a R10 000 deposit by April 30, not leaving her with much time to come up with the amount.

Talent Africa was established with the core objective of creating the absolute most prestigious National Talent competition of the highest standard ever to be presented in South Africa.

The aim is to give artists with the relevant talent the best opportunity to be exposed to all the entertainment world can offer on both national and international level. The difference is that Talent Africa, through possible partnership with government and NGOs offer less privileged people a fair chance to receive the correct training and expertise, to ultimately be part of this grand event.

Talent Africa also shapes each and every talented young performer into a world-class entertainer through national competitions, workshops, pageants, and international exposure to some of the most prestigious events the world has to offer, including the Talent America Competition in New York.

Talent Africa is passionate about the performing arts, and it is all about performance and refining talent.

Performers had to face tough competition. Firstly, on provincial level, then on a national level, with the final event being an international competition. Performers were judged by professionals in each genre of the performing arts.
