5.29 metre and 4.3 metre African Rock Pythons released safely back into the wild at game reserve near Ladysmith

It is a conservation game reserve, which means both snakes will be protected there

The two monster-sized African Rock Pythons that were caught earlier this month by Fanie and Melissa Cilliers have been safely released back into the wild.

The 5,29 metre python that was spotted on the stoep of a house in the Estageni area near Ladysmith and the 4,3 metre python that had a nine-year-old boy fleeing for his life were released at the same time.

The release of the snakes was done during April at the Nambiti Private Game Reserve by game rangers of Nambiti Hills.

The reserve is a conservation game reserve, which means both snakes will be protected there.

They will be part of the food chain, with sufficient natural food for the massive snakes.

The reserve has the perfect habitat for them, and the snakes won’t be near people.

Fanie says he is happy that the snakes were released safely, without injury to themselves or any people.
