People who live in the road next to the river say they cannot even sit outside during the mornings or evenings to watch the sun set, as the smell is so bad

Colenso residents are faced with the problem of leaking sewage on a daily basis due to their sewer pump station not being in working order.

According to Colenso residents, the pump station isn’t working and they have seen that the station’s power supply has been disconnected.

Residents say that sewage is going into the river, from where their drinking water is pumped.

They say the smell is horrendous and the raw effluent is building up on the banks of the river.

Residents called on Cllr Abbas Warasally for help to sort out the problem.
