Ladysmith K9 Search & Rescue officer saves elderly man in the mountains

A search began and the man was located just after 10.30pm the same evening, unharmed

A 59-year-old man was located and rescued by Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer from Ladysmith K9 Search & Rescue.

This was done with the help of members of the Van Reenen farming community.

The man reported himself lost on Monday, March 6, using his cellular phone while hiking in the mountains close to Van Reenen. His cell-phone later became non-functional.

A search began and he was located just after 10.30pm the same evening, unharmed.
