Jan Frederik stars in Molls victory
There were some close encounters and some big wins as cricket action intensified.
The recent rains have played a major part in the cricket results this past week. If games weren’t rained out, then the rain ensured that run scoring was a luxury. There were some close encounters and some big wins as cricket action intensified.
Farmers vs Molls – T20 Night League
Molls batted first and made 101/4 in their allotted overs. Brett top scored with 43 and Daniel made 18. Joff took 3/14 and Cameron took 1/10 for Farmers. In reply they were bowled out for only 76. Chris R was the top scorer with 17 not out. Brett took 4/10, Daniel took 2/11 and Wilfred took 2/12 as Molls picked up a good win.
Tigers vs Rebels – T20 Night League
Tigers batted first and could only manage to make 85 all out. Vishu made 24 and Amith made 12. Ashley took 2/9 and Shane took 2/14 for Rebels. A thrilling run chase ensued and Rebels fell short as they were bowled out for 79.
Shane made 25 not out and Aezaz chipped in with 17. Shaun took 2/7 and Amith took 2/16 as Tigers picked up a hard-fought win.
Molls vs Paki Lions – T20 Night League
Molls took to the crease first on a pitch with very little bounce. Thanks to 67 from Jan Frederik and 24 from Armand, they managed to post a respectable 147/4. Saeed took 2/15 and Farouk took 1/11 for Paki Lions. In reply they were bowled out for only 66. Farouk was the only batsman who managed a decent score, scoring 25. Stephen took 5/11 and Jan Frederik took 3/5 as Molls cruised to an impressive victory.
Tigers vs Umzinyathi – 30 Overs
Tigers batted first and made 120/8 in their 30 overs. Saied top scored with 33 while Vernen chipped in with 28. Oniel took 3/23 and Mohamed Fiaat took 2/19. In reply Umzinyathi Development were on 76/8 when rain stopped play. Udeshan top scored with 29 and Shervive made 10. Shannon and Vernen both took 3/12, Tigers winning the DL Method.
Molls vs Paki Lions – 30 Overs
Paki Lions batted first and made 207/9. Ashfaq top scored with 52 and Kamran made 35. Molls best bowlers were Brandon G, 3/40 and Justin, 2/44. In reply Molls were 61/7 when the heavens opened up and rained stopped play. Brandon G top scored with 21 and Wilfred made 12 at that stage. Sakib took 3/31 and Ashfaq took 2/1. Paki Lions won via the DL Method.
