DHS learners strive for success

22 of DHS boys chosen to represent Umzinyathi.

Boys Hockey Umzinyathi Trials
23 of DHS u/14, u/16 and u/18 boys travelled to Greytown on March 3 to take part in trials and 22 of DHS boys were chosen to represent Umzinyathi (1 of the boys is from Sarel Cilliers).
These boys are now going to attend the next round of trials at Treverton during the weekend of March 18, which account for the first round of trials for KZN Inlands.
The school wishes the following boys well and hope they are a shining example of the good quality of hockey played at Dundee High:
u/18 – K Thom, N Botha, N Mazibuko, A Nero, T Wang and S Khanyile.
u/16 – B Sharp, A Dlamini, N Mngomezulu, A Nero, S Thom, S Madi, N Motoung, T Chawanda and M Majozi.
u/14 – D Nuss, E Lauwrens, S Myeza, S Pillay and H Grierson.
Girls Hockey Umzinyathi Trials
The u/14, u/16 and u/18 hockey girls travelled to Greytown on March 9 for the Umzinyathi trials. It was a cold and rainy day but the girls performed well in the trials against schools in the Greytown area. Congratulations to everyone who represented Endumeni at the trials.
The following have been chosen to represent the Umzinyathi team at the regional tournaments in Pietermaritzburg:
u/18 – Nommie Ndlovu and Chanté Groenewald.
u/16 – Tamarah Grierson, Cheryl Ngobese, Christien Muller, Gabby Carter, Abigail Box and Nonthu Khuzwayo. Non-travelling reserve: Tiara Singh.
u/14 – Fathima Ameen, Natalie McTaggart, Nothile Mgabhi and Aphiwe Shabangu.
Non-travelling reserve: Karabo Manyani.
Well done girls. Sarel High is sure you will do them proud!
Netball
The Netball girls played the league games on Saturday, March 5, in Newcastle Phelandaba sports field. The u/17 girls won two games and lost one. The u/19 girls won all three of their games. The next round will be in April. A big thank you to all the girls who participated in these games.
