Sarel Cilliers vier verskeie oorwinnings in Empangeni

Congratulations to the players who represented the school’s first team.

Chess
On Saturday, March 4, the chess team of Sarel Cilliers played against Empangeni. It was a ‘hot’ game in a very humid Empangeni and Sarel Cilliers won 6 of the 11 games. The 6 games were won by: S Msane, B Smith, L Xaba, L Sangweni, L Maphumulo, and G Ndaba. It was an excellent start to the 2017 Chess season!

Hokkie
Netball
The matches started at 9am in a very hot Empangeni. The u/14B team drew 7-7, the u/16A team won 12 – 6 and the first team won their match 24-16.
Congratulations to the players who represented the school’s first team. Thina Outeo-Acheampong and Bongeka Manyathi controlled the game while the rest of the team fed the ball successfully to the goalies. Mazette Dlomo only missed two of her twenty five attemps at shooting goals, while Celestine Jackson scored the last goal. Londeka Mhlongo and Nqobile Moetenalo defended furiously and turned the match many times by intercepting the ball from the opposing team.
The rest of the scores were as follows: the second team lost 10-21, u/15A lost 6-12, u/15B lost 6-10, and u/14A lost 10-21. Thank you to all the coaches who travelled with the teams and supported them on an extremely hot day. Sarel Cilliers appreciates your dedication and passion!
