Golf business league final tees-off on Wednesday

Converted Business League Winners Trophy will be...

The first season of the golf Business League at Dundee Country Club comes to a close this Wednesday afternoon. Competing in the final for the converted Business League Winners Trophy will be OK Value, who just managed to scrape past Morning Dew Chickens 37 – 36 in last week’s semi-final, up against The Shed, who overcame the Amabongolo team 43 – 40 in the other semi-final.

The first game on Wednesday will be the tussle between Deb’s Embroidery and Farmers Agri-Care to avoid being awarded The Stone for finishing last in the competition, while Morning Dew Chickens will be up against Amabongolo for the third and fourth positions.

Friday afternoon’s Meat Competition saw both Kevin Donaldson and Henk Booysen scoring 21 points, with the latter winning the count out to claim the meat voucher.
Saturday’s Monthly Mug Medal competition for March attracted 37 players, and winning the prize for the Best Gross score on the day, as well as the Men’s A division Mug, was Jo Khumalo who shot a 75 to finish on a net 70.
Marc Nero was a runner up in A division with a net 71.

The Men’s B division Mug was won by Churchill Maphanga on a net 70, with Rob Streak finishing second on a net 71.
Lorien De Wit won the Ladies B division Mug, also on a net 70, with Dolly Bradbury taking home the Ladies C division Mug.

There were only three players who managed to card a 2 Club on the day, and they were; M Mthethwa on the fourth, S Browning on the eighth and G Kringer on the 12th hole. The Club Strokeplay Championship takes place next weekend, March 18 and 19, and players are requested to enter their names timeously for this competition. This week’s fixtures: Wednesday afternoon, Business League Finals; Friday 10 hole Meat Competition and Saturday’s Club competition will be a 4 BBBS format.
