Learners welcome uniform donation from Municipality

Learners from Ncandu Combined School, Phikelela Primary School and Sekusile High School were identified as recipients.

MADADENI – The Newcastle municipality has undertaken a project to donate school uniforms to underprivileged learners in schools in Newcastle.

On Friday, February 17, Mayor Makhosini Nkosi along with members of the Department of Health made their way to three schools.

Learners from Ncandu Combined School, Phikelela Primary School and Sekusile High School were identified as recipients.

Ward 5 councillor, Lindiwe Thwala, Xolani Makhathini, Modise Khoza, Siphosethu Mncwango, Mbali Khumalo and Mamrena Mokoena with Principal of Ncandu Combined School, Nana Makhoba.

Nana Makhoba, Principal at Ncandu Combined School thanked the Mayor and the municipality for their generous donation.

“We are grateful for the uniforms donated by the municipality.”

Xolani Makhatini, Modise Khoza, Siphosethu Mncwango, Mbali Khumalo and Mamrena Mokoena received brand new school uniforms and shoes.

A wheelchair was also donated to beneficiary Fikile Mwandla, from Madadeni Section seven. It was handed over to her on behalf of the MEC of Health, Sibongiseni Dlomo who identified her as a recipient in need.
