Making the best potjie at Ladysmith Siegetown Moths competition

Everybody who was cooking unselfishly shared their ideas with each other and gained some very valuable tips for making the best potjie or pot of curry

The Siegetown Moths held a potjiekos / pot of curry competition on Saturday at the Shellhole. Those showing off their culinary skills gathered at the Moth Hall and started the day off early, pot and ingredients in hand.

The different methods were evident, as everyone has their own unique way of making an amazing potjie. The tables were seen full of delicious “goodies”, all ready to go into the pot.

Even the way the fire was prepared appeared to be an art form, with each pairing convinced that their method was the best by far.

The ‘twinnies’ of Craig Booth and Brad Pitout won the best potjie. These guys really know how to cook up a storm.

The day was enjoyed by all who attended, and every meal was prepared with heart and soul to get all those tasty flavours to come to the fore.
