The heavy rain Ladysmith is having is not due to Cyclone Dineo, and Dineo is long gone.
The wet, rainy weather set in yesterday morning and should stay with us until tomorrow, and maybe into Wednesday.
The rain we are currently having is due to moist tropical air from the north west, which is bringing rain to the eastern and central parts of the country.

Today, Ladysmith has an 80% chance of rain (which we’re having), as well as tomorrow, but should subside by Wednesday.
The rain from yesterday into today has already brought 40mm and that number will continue to increase.
While this brings a sigh of relief to Ladysmith residents, with drought conditions still in place, the risk of floods in low lying areas has increase with the SA Weather Service issuing flood warnings for parts of KZN.
The Drakensberg had very heavy rainfall and the rivers were seen bursting their banks in several places.
