Breaking records at DJS Annual athletics day

Cheers of motivation echoed on and off the sports fields...

Athletics Day
Two days filled with fun, competition, good sportsmanship and laughter. On January 19 – 20, DJS held their annual Athletics Days. With lovely weather and fantastic spirit, the days were a great success. The houses, Mpati, Indumeni, Talana and Tangeni, looked lovely in their coloured T-shirts, and both days the cheers of motivation echoed on and off the sports fields.

Elke leerder van graad 4 tot 7 het in ten minste een item deelgeneem. The school is so proud of the athletes who bettered a whopping eight records and they are Luyanda Kunene (3), Ziyanda Madondo (1), Leonard Kruger (1), Ashwin Thompson (1), Banele Mhlungu (2) and Aphelele Sibiya (1). Congratulations to them. Alhoewel die kompetisie baie taai was, het Indumeni uiteindelik met die wentrofee weggestap.

DJS athletics who broke records in this years annual athletics day. They are Leonard Kruger, Reynier van Rensburg and Ashwin Thompson.

The age group winners: Zalika Meyer (u/10), Banele Mhlungu (u/11), Phiwokuhle Ngobese and Siphiwokuhle Sithole (u/11), Langelihle Makathini (u/11), Snakho Ndlovu (u/12), Luyanda Kunene (u/12), Chezaan van Rensburg (u/13) and Ashwin Thompson (u/13).

DJS leerders het 42 medaljes gewen tydens die Umzinyathi Distrik Atletiekbyeenkoms, asook 10 medaljes tydens die KZN Provinsiale Atletiekbyeenkoms in Durban. Thank you to all the educators and parents for their hard work. Congratulations to all athletes, DJS is very proud of each and every one of you!
