Attempted murder charge leads to jail time

32-year-old Cyprian Funizwe Hudla was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment after an altercation that took place at the Ladysmith taxi rank in February 2015.

The case was finalised in the Ladysmith Regional Court last week and saw 32-year-old Hudla sentenced to a decade behind bars, of which half has been suspended for five years on condition that the accused is not convicted of attempted murder or assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm during the period of his suspension.

The accused was also found unfit to possess a firearm.
