While Ladysmith emergency services have been put on alert, the storm is expected to be basically heavy rain by the time it reaches us.

With the downgrading of Dineo from a cyclone to a tropical storm, emergency service readiness will obviously be downgraded. That said, heavy rainfall is still expected from Thursday night through to Saturday.

Residents are urged to exercise caution when crossing swollen rivers and to watch out for signs of flash flooding.
