Local church to reward hard work of the Watch

To conclude the meeting, Colonel Alan Westermeyer will take the floor and inform the attending patrollers of current crime statistics.

VRYHEID Neighbourhood Watch patrollers have been hard at work looking out for the community and it seems their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

The men and women who dedicate their free time to protecting and serving Vryheid are in for a well-deserved treat, as their next patrollers’ meeting, taking place on Thursday evening at 6pm, will include a message of thanks and a blessing from local pastor, Gert Veldtman from Freedom Life Church and some culinary treats sponsored by the church to express their gratitude on behalf of the community for the hard work and commitment that patrolling members put in.

This will be followed by a brief presentation by Nico Grobbelaar of the SAPS who will explain the ins and outs of the police reservist system, as well as the responsibilities and duties, and advise patrollers on the correct steps to follow should they wish to enrol as official police reservists.

To conclude the meeting, Colonel Alan Westermeyer will take the floor and inform the attending patrollers of current crime statistics.

Shake hands

The meeting will be held at the SAPS canteen in Heeren Street and Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch patrollers are urged to attend.

“Thank you to one and all for your hard work the last few months…” shared Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch Chairman, Andrè Rheder.
