Help police combat stock theft

A large number of reported thefts are occurring during the day while animals are in their grazing camps or grazing fields

Police in the Uthukela Cluster are appealing to the community to assist them in their efforts to combat stock theft.

Analysis of this particular crime in the Uthukela Cluster reveals that a large number of reported thefts are occurring during the day while animals are in their grazing camps or grazing fields.

It was further found that several animals believed to have been stolen had strayed from the herd.

The straying of animals and the theft of stock from these grazing areas can be curbed by having someone reliable monitoring the movement of your stock while they graze.

Any missing stock can then be spotted immediately and this will reduce the late reporting of these crimes to police. It will also afford stock owners the opportunity of immediately identifying any potential threats to their animals.

Suspicious-looking vehicles, persons or activity around grazing areas should be reported to police.
