Relief for children orphaned by road carnage

The Department of Transport’s Festive Season National Road Safety Campaign focuses on child-headed households as a result of road carnage.

THE Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga, brought festive season relief to families headed by children who lost their parents in road carnages at Louwsburg, on Monday, December 19.

The initiative is part of the Department of Transport’s Festive Season National Road Safety Campaign focusing on child-headed households as a result of road carnages.

It is aimed at assisting such families with groceries during the festive season.

Transport entities such as the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) as well as Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) formed part of the event.
