GREY clouds lingered over Vryheid last Wednesday as Vryheid Tourism set up their stall for the 7th Annual Vryheid Tourism Roadshow on the R34 just outside town.

A few drops of rain fell over Vryheid, but before any spirits could be dampened, the sky cleared and the sun came out, setting the scene for Vryheid’s own movers and shakers to welcome motorists to Vryheid and the AbaQulusi region.

500 Vryheid Tourism goodie bags, containing souvenirs and pamphlets from some local businesses were handed out by Vryheid Tourism and AbaQulusi Municipality representatives, the most noted of which being AbaQulusi’s recently elected Mayor, Councillor Martin Mtshali, who greeted motorists and guests to the town with his larger than life smile and jovial personality, getting up close and personal as, one by one, the cars were stopped at the roadblock and motorists got a chance to shake his hand.

Vryheid Tourism‘s Alet Swanepoel would like to thank all who contributed to the event.
