December treats

Blurock Quarries bought gifts for all the children and new toys and charts for the classroom

Mhubheni Senior Citizens Club is non-governmental organisation that was started in 2004 by Mrs ND Zwane.  The club cares for the elderly, sickly, HIV and Aids patients, underprivileged, orphans and disabled.

These people come to the centre and get involved in activities, exercises and gardening. By engaging in these activities and with other people in similar situations they are able to share and learn from other’s experiences.

The centre cares for 30 HIV/Aids patients. Blurock Quarries this year funded their Aids Day function. Meals were prepared for all members of the centre. The day was filled with speeches, songs and dances.

All the members thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the staff of Blurock Doctor David Hadebe and Kajal Singh enjoyed the time spent with the community. Blurock also sponsored a meal supplement for the centre to help improve the immune system and a gift for each of the HIV/Aids patients.

It was a well spent day. The centre also has a crèche, which had their Christmas Year End Party on December 1. Ubuhle Crèche cares for approximately 20 children aged two to five-years-old.

Blurock Quarries bought gifts for all the children and new toys and charts for the classroom.  The children were so excited about the gifts.

Mhubheni Senior Citizens Club and Ubuhle Crèche expressed their sincere thanks to the management and staff of Blurock Quarries, they continued to say that it is through the kindness and generosity of Blurock that the Aids Day function and the graduation and Christmas party of the crèche was a success.
