Municipality hosts fashion show

The intention of the show was to market fashion designers within the local municipal area

Alfred Duma Local Municipality hosted a fashion show on Saturday at the Town Hall.

The intention of the show was to market fashion designers within the local municipal area, giving them the opportunity to showcase their work to the community and those around them.

The show accommodated all kinds of designs, such as cultural clothing and urban ethnic designs. The fashion that was showcased on the day indeed proved that the designers of this area are a force to be reckoned with.

It is anticipated that this event will be held annually.

The show was also in the form of a competition and the winners were as follows: the third prize of R3000 was won by Zama Phetla (MinnaTau Fashion House); second prize of R5000 went to Ncamisile Khumalo (Iphupho Longcotshwa); and the first prize winner was Dumolwakhe Makhathini (GreenTab Fashion House). There were three categories, namely ‘Best Male Boggi Dress’, ‘Best Funkfrican Women’s Dress’ and ‘Best Closet Couture Garment’.

The Alfred Duma Fashion Show had the theme ‘Funkfrican Boggi Couture’.
