Man shot during robbery at Lions Park

The man says he accidentally shot himself in the hand while fighting off attackers

A man was shot during a robbery at Lions Park today (December 13) while parked in the area.

According to an ER24 paramedic, while they were at La Verna Hospital, a wounded man arrived at the hospital who claimed he was the victim of the robbery / shooting.

When asked what had happened, the man explained that he accidentally shot himself in the hand while trying to protect himself from three suspects who had attacked him and were attempting to rob him.

Sharaj Ambulance Services, ER24 and Public Safety rushed to the scene, unsure if they would find anyone else injured in the area.

They were later joined by police.

Police and Public Safety searched the entire Lions Park area for the suspects, but came up empty-handed.

Lions Park has become a hot-bed of crime in recent months, with people warned to stay away from the area.

A soldier was recently murdered in the park.
