Ladysmith resident gets his hands on elusive Snapchat Glasses

A good deed captured by Snapchat

Dillon Coetzee is currently on holiday in New York and he successfully managed to get his hands on a pair of Snapchat Glasses.

If you have no idea what Snapchat or Snapchat Glasses are… Well, welcome to 2016! Now that you are out of the coma, let’s catch up on what you missed.

Snapchat is big, sort of like WhatsApp, but better if you are younger…

Snapchat Glasses are the biggest thing since yesterday and will most likely be history by tomorrow.

So, assuming you can Google Snapchat, let’s talk a bit about the glasses:

They only record 10 seconds of video at a time – like quick-snaps for video and much like what Snapchat already does. This isn’t a record-your-kid’s-whole-birthday-party set of camera glasses, unless you keep snapping 10 seconds at a time. To snap, you tap (the frames) and it films. It then sends the video to your phone’s Snapchat… Really that simple.

At $130 or R2000 in our money, they are not for the poor at heart.

Dillon, not realising he was recording, filmed himself doing a good deed… And thanks to Snapchat, we can all see… First thing to notice is that the camera films in a circle…

The man ahead of him had dropped a glove and Dillon picked it up and returned it to the man. #DillianMakesUsProud
