Buffalo River recovers after continuous light rain falls

The water level of the Buffalo River as seen from the bridge on the Dundee/Nquthu road yesterday has shown that the rain has impacted on this vital water source.

The Buffalo River, on which Endumeni and Nquthu are totally reliant for water, has recovered significantly following good, light rain falls over the past week.

Some areas have measured about 120mm since the rain started falling late last week.  A fierce wind storm late yesterday afternoon felled tree branches in Dundee and Glencoe with one large branch damaging a fence at the Dundee Country Club.

However, the storage dams remain very empty and residents are urged to continue to save water.
