Celebrate your town and its architecture today

Every year, planners around the world engage in activities on or around November 8 to raise awareness of the importance of planning in their communities

Initiated in 1949 by the late professor Carlos Maria Della Paorella of the University of Buenos Aires, ‘Town Planning Day’ was initiated to advance public and professional interest in town planning, both locally and abroad.

Today (November 8) is that day… A special day to give recognition to the ideals of community planning in your town or country which brings professional planners and the general public together.

Today means celebrating and embracing your town and appreciating the architecture therein.

Every year, planners around the world engage in activities on or around November 8 to raise awareness of the importance of planning in their communities.

Planners in about 30 countries mark this day by talking to community or student groups, or sponsoring activities that highlight the importance of town planning.
