A man was arrested in the Ezakheni area on Friday (November 4) after the Ladysmith SAPS Task Team received information concerning an illegal firearm.
The team roped in the assistance of the Ladysmith K9 Unit and the group of officers rushed out to the area.
At a house in Ezakheni C-Section, they arrested a 34-year-old man for being in possession of an unlicensed pistol.
The serial number on the recovered 9mm pistol had been filed off.
The suspect appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court on Monday (November 7).
