Scouts track down awards

Closing off 2016, the AGM focused on the organisation's accolades during the course of the year.

The Third Newcastle Scouts’ Annual General Meeting and prize giving took place last Thursday evening.

Closing off 2016, the AGM focused on the organisation’s accolades during the course of the year.

“We had a busy year, and while we did not have as many camps as we would have liked, we did more community service, which I feel was important,” reported Scout member, Scott Gale.

A lack of new members led to a financial deficit, but the organisation adjusted expenses to stay financially stable to continue for the benefit of the children.

The meeting concluded by awarding Scouts for their efforts throughout the course of the year.

The awards ranged from Best Attendance to the Best All Round Cub. Receiving their awards left the youngsters feeling motivated to tackle 2017.
