Helping teachers solve the maths conundrum

Maths is not every learner's favourite subject.

Maths is not every learner’s favourite subject.
It has the habit of sending shock waves through the learners’ collective system.
Thankfully, teachers from the Endumeni area have shown their commitment to deal with the maths crisis in the most effective way possible. Greg Shapiro, founder of K2U (Known to Unknown) Learning Systems in Dundee, recently hosted a ‘Teachers’ Inspirational Workshop’ at Ingudlane Lodge and sponsored by Nashua Maluti.
Greg’s inspirational talk on the ‘Divine Origins of Mathematics’ left the audience of 35 teachers, principals and HOD’s from 10 local schools in awe of the enormous responsibility they have on their shoulders to help their students excel in this vital subject.
“Almost all of the attendees confirmed on their feedback forms that they loved the presentation and definitely would attend further similar workshops,” Greg told the Courier. Dion Sadaw from the local office of the Department of Education closed the meeting with some powerful words of encouragement stressing the need to ensure that every child receives the opportunity to master mathematics. The delicious buffet breakfast was sponsored by Nashua Maluti who have already stepped in to help save some of the attending schools substantial costs on their printing.
Representatives attended the workshop from the following schools: Ethangeni Combined, Dundee Secondary, M.L. Sultan, Glencoe Primary (Violet), Dundee High, Ebusi Combined, Sebenzakusakhanya Secondary, Thalana High, Boschkloof Combined and Enyanyeni Combined Schools.
