German schools’ tennis tournament

The annual tournament between Wittenberg, Lüneburg and Michaelis took place on October 25 at the Vryheid Lawn Tennis Club.

OUR annual tournament between Wittenberg, Lüneburg and Michaelis took place on October 25 at the Vryheid Lawn Tennis Club. Wittenberg hosted the tournament this year.

It was a lovely, cool, overcast morning. The players were eager to play and the parents were proud to see how well their children played.
Our Michaelis players gave it their all and, because they had played with their partners most of the season, they competed very well as a team. There were so many well placed serves and rallies where their endurance was tested and winning shots played. We can really be proud of our learners.
Congratulations to the Lüneburg boys who were the winning boys’ team and the Michaelis girls who were the winning girls’ team and lastly, very big congratulations to our Michaelis players, who were the winning team for the first time since 2000!
Thank you to Hagen Gevers who brought water, all the parents and friends who supported the players, the Lawn Tennis Club for the use of the facilities and Wittenberg for hosting the event.
Dundee Doubles Tournament: Daniela Vonkeman and Awande Mbuli took part in the annual Dundee Doubles Tennis Tournament last weekend. We are proud to congratulate these two girls on winning the tournament!
