Mediclinic raises breast cancer awareness

"Do not think it won't happen to you. If you know someone who is affected by cancer, show your support."

NEWCASTLE – Staff of Mediclinic Newcastle, particularly Ward E, wore touches of pink to raise awareness of breast cancer on Monday.

Unit manager, Sister Mariaan Olivier emphasised the importance of educating oneself about cancer, because early detection is of the utmost importance.

“I urge all, especially those who have a family history of cancer to go for screenings every year,” she said.

“Do not think it won’t happen to you. If you know someone who is affected by cancer, show your support.”

Sister Olivier thanked the medical staff who work tirelessly to care for cancer patients.
