Hawks arrest suspect for alleged hit

Hawks followed on a tip-off which led them to Johannesburg, where the two 32-year-old suspects were hiding.

MADADENI – Newcastle Hawk members arrested two suspects for the murder of a 28-year-old man, and the attempted murder of another victim, which occurred at Ikasi Lounge, in Madadeni Section 1 on May 8.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly entered the building at around 9.30pm and fatally shot the victim.

Another victim was also injured in the shooting, and was transported to hospital for further treatment.

After a thorough investigation, the Hawks followed on a tip-off which led them to Johannesburg, where the two 32-year-old suspects were hiding.

They were apprehended and brought back to KwaZulu-Natal where they were formally charged. The suspects appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 10.

The results of the case are still unknown at this stage.
