Update: Soldier killed in stabbing identified
Police are investigating a case of murder, robbery and rape
The soldier who was stabbed to death in the Hospital Park area on Tuesday evening, September 27, has been identified as 42-year-old Lindukwazy Simonsakhe Buthelezi.
The soldier was killed and his female companion raped after the couple had parked their vehicle in Carbineer Road, Lions Park area. They were approached by three men armed with knives, who demanded cash.
The suspects stabbed the 42-year-old soldier and raped the 29-year-old woman he was with.
They then fled, taking the couple’s cell-phones with them.
Police are investigating a case of murder, robbery and rape.
The suspects are still on the run.
