Tent erection frustrates residents

Commentary on social media also pointed to residents being outraged that the tent was erected in a residential area, without prior warning or permission

The town’s by-laws came into sharp focus last week when residents noticed that Roland Hellet Road had been closed off and preparations for the erection of a large tent were underway.

Two residents who called the Estcourt News questioned whether permission had been granted from the local municipality for the tent to be erected across the road.

A resident said that he had attempted obtaining answers from local authorities, including the Protections Services, but was ‘ignored.’
Commentary on social media also pointed to residents being outraged that the tent was erected in a residential area, without prior warning or permission from neighbouring residents.

Comment was sought from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality but none was received at the time of going to print.
