uThukela District Municipality has commented on the tragic and senseless killing of Mr Mpumelelo Mbatha.
“It is with great regret and sadness that uThukela District Municipality has learned about the shocking news of the killing of Mr Mpumelelo Mbatha, who was the manager in the Office of the Mayor.
“Mr Mbatha met his untimely death on Wednesday night when he was accosted by unknown assailants who opened fire on him at his home in Hospital Park, while on his way to close the gate.”
Police are currently investigating the motive behind the murder of Mr Mbatha.
The community will be kept abreast of the latest developments.
