The SAPS request that witnesses come forward and hand over statements

With regards to a recent incident at a local hospital involving an allegedly drunk police officer, the SAPS request that witnesses come forward and hand over statements.

The policeman was allegedly drunk while on duty and guarding a prisoner at the hospital.

Sources claim the officer was intoxicated and making a noise in the hospital. A bag he was carrying was evidently left near the patient while he went to look for matches. In the bag was a firearm, a bottle of booze and a packet of cigarettes.

In order for police to proceed with investigations and for internal charges to be laid against the officer, witnesses are urged to come forward.
