OUR ‘fur friends’ at the SPCA will dine on premium pet food for the next month, following a generous donation from Agrinet sales rep, Johan van der Wath.

Mr van der Wath donated 50kg of ostrich dog food, 30kg of puppy food and 20kg of cat food from the SA Complete Pet Food range to the SPCA on Monday afternoon.

“I live in Vryheid and a relative of mine used to be a member of the SPCA committee, which made me realise what a need there is for support from the community. So, I got in touch with SA Complete Pet Food and urged them help me make a contribution,” said Mr van der Wath.

He continued, “I have three dogs of my own that we see, not just as pets, but as part of the family. I would like to encourage pet owners to ensure that their pets are healthy and well looked after and I would like to urge residents to support the SPCA. If every household in Vryheid committed to making a small contribution to the SPCA once a year, the organisation would thrive.”

Field officer, Babsie Slabbert, who accepted the donation on behalf of the SPCA, thanked Mr van der Wath, saying, “This donation will feed our babies!”
