Golfers notch up top scores in Monthly Mug

Heinrich Meyer recorded his best round of golf...

On Saturday, 42 golfers entered the October Monthly Mug Medal Competition at Dundee Country Club and all four divisions were won on very good scores. In the Men’s A division, Jurie Engelbrecht shot a two under par round of 69 to not only win the prize for Best Gross score on the day, but also win his division on a net 68. Heinrich Meyer recorded his best round of golf when breaking 80 for the first time to win the Men’s B division on a net 67.
The Ladies B division was won by Debbie Catlett on a net 69, two strokes better than her handicap, while Dolly Bradbury finished her round four strokes under her handicap to win the Ladies C division on a net 67.
All of the three players managed to record eleven points on the allocated jackpot holes to each earn themselves a little extra cash, and they were Heinrich Meyer, Dolly Bradbury and Bruce Meyer. There were also a number of players to achieve a 2 Club on the day, and taking a share of the prize money was Marc Bradbury and D Catlett on hole number 4, C Chawanda and S Browning on hole number 8, J Engelbrecht on hole number 16, while J Khumalo recorded a 2 Club on both of holes number 4 and 16. The Country Club calls on all local golfers and pet lovers to get their names down for this coming Saturday, October 8, when the SPCA will be holding their Charity Golf Day, which is a 4 BBBS competition. Players are to contact the Pro Shop on 034-218 1000 to book their times.
