DLV Engineers lent a helping hand towards improving the Ikusasa Labo Disabled Care Centre this past weekend.

The company donated a pump and water system to the home to help make it easier to pump water from the Jojo tank outside the premises to the kitchen.

“We are highly grateful to DLV for all that they have done for the centre. This installation has made things much easier for us as we no longer have to go outside to fetch water from the tank,” said Thokozile Buthelezi who is currently running Ikusasa Labo.

Although the centre has received a lot of help from the community, it has not been without challenges as they have already had two break-ins this year.

“The last time they (thieves) came here they stole all the food that had been donated to us during Mandela month. They took everything and we are currently struggling to ensure that the children have food everyday,” said Thokozile.

Members of Ikusasa Labo are requesting any members of the community who might be able to help them by donating food to contact Thoko on 079 826 9127.
