Dundee Country Club golfers are very proud of our member Louis Albertse (Jnr) who was not only selected to represent Kwa-Zulu Natal in the Inter Provincial Tournament held last week in the Eastern Cape, but also for his achievements in being rated as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the Tournament in the B Section which saw the KZN team winning promotion to the A section.

The final round of the local golf league was played on Sunday with Dundee Country Club hosting sixty league players. The B division saw the derby clash between Dundee B1 and B2 teams, and as expected, was always going to be a closely contested affair between fellow golfers and friends. The game was evenly matched after the morning foursomes with both teams recording a win, a half and a loss to be level at 3 – 3 at lunch. In the afternoon single’s games, Wynand Ackermann, Mandla Mthethwa and Clement Sithole won their matches for the B1 team with only Barry Sandy and Melusi Sithole wining their games for the B2 team, while Kevin Donaldson and Richard Catlett halved their match to see the B1 team victorious 10 – 8.

On Saturday a decent field of forty two golfers competed in the Farmtrac Sponsored 4 BBBS competition, and the club would like to thank Richard Catlett for the successful day. Wining the competition was the pairing of D Von Mollendorff and W Maritz who managed to count out the second place pairing of C Munro and L De Witt, as well as the third placed pairing of B Francis and L Govender, all three pairings finished with 45 points.

The novelty prizes for nearest the pin on the par 3’s went to, A Mbatha on the 4th hole, M Ackermann on hole no 8, S Kalideen on the 12th hole and H Booysen on the 16th hole. The prize for nearest for 2 on the 18th hole, went to B. Francis.
