CCBSA is playing a role in providing assistance to areas hard-hit by the drought.

We have provided water to the community of Vryheid schools in Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal. In a bid to assist local communities, especially families and children, 432 pallets of specially bottled “relief water” was distributed to more than 16 schools in the Vryheid area. It is packaged in convenient 2 litre PET bottles for easy use and storage.

CCBSA CSI Specialist, Samukelo Nkosi, said the rollout of the water distribution project aims to create short-term partnerships that provide water to communities in order to alleviate immediate needs. In the longer term, it will enable responsible use of water by communities.

“As a manufacturer dependent on a reliable supply of water (CCBSA products contain 90% water), we are committed to reducing our water footprint, improving water efficiencies, providing communities with water and mitigating the risk of water rationing in various regions. We see this first handover as the start of this bigger vision.”

Speaking at the official water handover, Chairperson of the Bhekuzulu Circuit Management Organising Committee (BCOC), Ms PT Tshabalala said: “Life in our schools has been very

difficult recently, and the contribution by CCBSA is highly appreciated. It will make a big difference to our students and their ability to concentrate and learn.”
