NEWCASTLE – In the quest to assist less fortunate women in the community, Regent Business School embarked on a fund-raising initiative in August.

Leading the month-long project, Louisha Maharaj and Barbara Elliot raised funds to purchase necessities for women in the community.

Last Tuesday, they were able to hand out items purchased through the initiative.

“We raised enough for eight families around Newcastle, which were identified by community leaders,” Ms Maharaj said.

Greeted warmly by the recipients, she said none of it would have been possible without the support of the community.

“On behalf of Regent Business School, we would like to thank everyone who helped make the campaign a resounding success. We are grateful for all the support we received.”

Due to the success of the initiative, Regent Business School will undertake similar projects in the future.
