GALLERY: Breathing new life into the Paddadam project

"With a little bit of effort and a bit of support from the community, we can turn this around," says Doug Grewar, "If we can do this, we can do anything."

THE Paddadam Clean Up Project has resumed after several months on the backburner.

Khaya Zulu, Pieter Colloty and Doug Grewar discuss their plan of action as the TLB arrives at the Paddadam.

Renewed support from the community and a revitalised interest in the project has breathed new life into the endeavour to restore the park and the popular recreational dam to it’s former glory and a reminder of fond childhood memories for many residents who grew up in Vryheid and spent time at the Paddadam.

Doug Grewar looks out over the site of the Paddadam with John Kitching.

“With a little bit of effort and a bit of support from the community, we can turn this around,” says Doug Grewar, “If we can do this, we can do anything.”

Grewar invites the public to visit the dam and view the metamorphosis as the renovations progress.

Donations towards diesel for the excavation equipment are welcome.
